Wal-Mart SuperCenter--Fowlerville
Fowlerville, Michigan
MICCO Construction is nearing completion on the fast-tracked 197,500 sq. ft. Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Fowlerville, MI. Built on a 37 acre site, the completed store will include full line merchandise and grocery sales. It includes an indoor and outdoor garden center, pharmacy center with drive-thru service, Dunkin Doughnuts, vision center and bank. The steel-framed structure is shelled with masonry and EIFS, and covered with a TPO membrane roof system.
Challenges for the MICCO project team began from the onset given the condensed eight month construction schedule which included extensive sitework on an unstable filled project site. The site required up to 12' of fill material, more than 1500 Geopier caissons and the construction of eight acres of retention and wetland area. The project also included the construction of four outlots for future development and the reconstruction of the intersection of South Grand and Van Riper Roads.
